In an effort to reduce drain clogs and service calls to plumbers, one of North America’s largest supermarket chain’s called on Drain-Net to find a preventative plumbing solution.
Placed plastic floor sink baskets in the following areas:
Deli, Bakery, Meat, Produce, Floral Kiosks, and the coffee restaurant
Placed Drain Socks in the following areas: Janitors Closet, Meat Department, Prep Area, and round “hub” drains with an air gap.
Result: The placement of Drain Socks and Floor Sink Baskets ensured debris was caught before it became a costly, unsanitary, and inconvenient blockage. Installing these products paid for themselves in the first year and according to their company memo, “After the first plumbing call that has been avoided by utilizing these strainers, you will have paid for all the strainers sent to your store. Plugged drain calls avoided after the first one is money in the bank!”
It is estimated that since the Drain-Net initiative began in 2008, the chain has saved millions of dollars in plumbing service visits and repairs.
